LOGO Guide Signs

LOGO signs guide motorists by clearly showing which brands and services are available off an interchange before they exit the highway. Travelers and potential customers can easily find your business by following the iconic ‘blue signs.’ Plus, the brand visibility achieved through highway advertising offers a highly affordable and effective method to boost your brand’s presence.

Types of Services

Services are limited to gas, food, lodging, camping and attractions. To qualify, services shall be open to all persons regardless of race, religion, color, sex, or national origin.

A business establishment, meeting the following criteria, may be considered for placement of a business or logo sign on a specific service sign panel.

Fuel Facilities

  • Vehicle services, which shall include fuel (including alternative fuels), oil, and water.
  • Modern sanitary facilities and drinking water.
  • Continuous operation at least 16 hours, 7 days per week.
  • Public telephone.

Lodging Facilities

  • Adequate sleeping accommodations.
  • Public telephone.
  • State or local licensing or approval, where required.
  • Modem sanitary facilities.

Food Facilities

  • State or local licensing or approval, where required.
  • Continuous operations to serve at least two (2) meals per day, 6 days per week.
  • Public telephone.
  • Modern sanitary facilities.

Camping Facilities

  • Adequate parking accommodations.
  • Modem sanitary facilities and drinking water.
  • Adequate waste disposal.

Attractions

  • Continuously operating at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, at least one of which shall be a Saturday or Sunday
  • A tourist-oriented service of cultural, historical, recreational, or educational significance
  • Complying with all federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing where required, pertaining to health, sanitation, accessibility, and safety
  • Adequate parking accommodations
  • Public telephone
  • Conducted tours available or attendant on site
  • Maximum distance of service: 3 miles (Not available in urban areas)

 

Distance to Services and Facilities

The maximum distance that eligible services can be located from the end of the exit ramp to qualify for a business sign should not exceed three (3) miles in either direction, except that within the 3-mile limit, services of the type being considered are not available, the limit of eligibility may be extended in 3 mile increments until one (I) or more services of the type being considered are reached. The maximum distance that these eligible services can be located from the main traveled way to qualify for a business sign shall not exceed fifteen (15) miles in either direction.
